SAG 600 is a high-performance, fast-curing structural two-component polyurethane adhesive specifically developed for bonding aluminium corner joints in window and façade systems. A chemical reaction between the two components creates a strong, impact-resistant polymer bond with excellent resistance to moisture, temperature fluctuations and a wide range of chemicals and solvents.
SAG 600 offers excellent workability and effectively fills gaps and surface irregularities. This allows precise application, including on vertical surfaces. Its formulation ensures consistent processing, short cycle times and high mechanical strength, making the adhesive suitable for load-bearing joints.
Thanks to its H351-free formulation, SAG 600 can be handled more safely without the mandatory training requirements associated with H351-classified products under REACH.
SAG 600 is supplied in convenient dual cartridges for efficient and consistent application. The adhesive develops functional strength at an early stage, making it particularly suitable for production environments where speed, precision and reliability are essential.
Application instructions:
- SAG 600 is designed for accurate and efficient application using either manual or pneumatic applicator guns for dual cartridges. To achieve an optimum and consistent 1:1 mixing ratio, place the opened cartridge in the applicator gun. Before fitting the static mixer, dispense a small amount of material from both chambers until both components flow evenly. Use only approved static mixers supplied with the packaging or available from Bertec BV. Once the mixer has been fitted and the cartridge placed in the applicator gun, apply steady pressure to the cartridge. This feeds the resin and hardener through the mixer at a constant ratio. Discard the first 30–50 mm of extruded adhesive, as this initial portion may not have the correct mixing ratio. Properly mixed SAG 600 has a smooth, homogeneous consistency, an even cream colour and a creamy, slightly glossy appearance. During use, the adhesive may begin to cure inside the static mixer. After approximately half of the working time, increased resistance may therefore be felt during extrusion. To maintain material flow during short interruptions, slowly dispense a small amount of product or replace the mixer before resuming application. After use, leave the used mixer attached to the cartridge until the next application. When stored correctly, the remaining adhesive can remain usable for several weeks. When restarting, remove and dispose of the used mixer. Carefully inspect the outlets of both cartridge chambers. Clean, unmixed material must flow from each chamber. If material from one chamber has entered the other, dispense a small amount from both chambers without a mixer until both components emerge separately and cleanly from the outlets. Fit a new static mixer and resume bonding.
